African home struck by lightning

Today, 18th June, I received an email from Khanya firstly telling me that hopefully she will be out of hospital by Friday this week and secondly to give me some very sad news, the home of Zama Miya, one of our young men being sponsored for college, was hit by lightning and burned to the ground leaving one brother very badly burnt and in a special burns hospital in Durban, Kwazulu.

Zama is from a family of 13 who are now totally homeless and have lost everything and Nancy has asked the parish priest if the  family could take shelter in the church hall, which is what I believe they are doing for the moment.

The charity has limited funding at the moment so I am sending out an appeal for any monetary help which can affordably be given . I have almost enough funding for a small two roomed insulated breeze block house to be built but this will be far too small for a famiy of 13 so that is why I am now asking for your help. No amount donated is too small and will be so gratefully received. I need to help this family as quickly as possible as this is their winter time and the weather can often be treacherous. I would need to have a four roomed insulated home built and as soon as possible.

I have never wanted anyone who is stuggliung financially to give to any appeals I send out and the same applies now, p'ease only contribute to a new home for this family if you are comfortabely able to. I need approx another £1,000 toi comple a safe, large enough new home for this family in dire need and for a few basic essentials.

Thank you all for your past help and any support you are able to give the charity now.,

Elena.
