Another Shack Fire
Today, 5th February, I have just received an email telling me that another shack has just burnt to the ground. The carer grandmother and neighbours who were trying to help have all been rushed to hospital. The seven children concerned have been taken in by Nancy bringing her household to 20. Goodness knows how they will manage as their house is small but knowing Nancy well, manage they will.
I am sending out another £1,000 so that a basic two room shack can be built to re- home the grandmother and the children and also to purchase mattresses, sleeping bags and blankets for them all including the grandmother. They also need basic cooking utensils and clothing .
Luckily all the children are sponsored and were in school at the time of the fire but all they have is the clothes they went to school in.
I was hoping to hold money back for food and other essentials needs throughout the year, I wasn't expecting to send another £1,000 right now so I am hoping and praying that more funding comes into the charity.
The hospitals out in Kwazulu have many wards full of children and carers suffering from burns due to these terrible fires. I have three dozen wind up torches waiting to be despatched to try and prevent more of these terrible life and home destroying accidents with candles happening again.
We must thank our blessings here in the country we live in, yes, life can and is for many of us difficult but can never be as difficult as lacking in the basics of life as our African friends.
Please help if you can, any donation received is very welcome, nothing is too small to send and all money received into One Life is send out to the project without anything being taken from it. 100 percent of all funding received gets transferred to the account in Africa.
Donations can be given through pay Pal, see Make A Donation at the top right hand side of this page. Thank you.
