Funding Desperately Needed For Higher Education.

We desperately need funding for higher education for many of our young school leavers.

Like all youngsters our young people have dreams and ambitions but the reality is that they will never get the chance of college or university, no matter how able they are or how much they wish to further their education.

These young people are mostly orphans, they live in shacks and have no ready access to water, electricity and many to even adequate bedding or mattresses to lie on.

It's a catch 22 situation, no jobs, no income, no income no chance of further education so no chance of employment.

During the last four to five years several people have come forward to offer funding for the further education of a young person. Out of the many young people who leave school each year only one per year has received this opportunity.

The ones who have been given this chance have worked really hard against many difficulties and sicknesses and all have done exceedingly well in their exams. They are now able to support their siblings and relatives, put food on the table and indeed help to put younger siblings also into further education.

The benefits are great and have a snowball effect for the next generation but unless funding comes into the charity, the young man now in college who finishes his IT course at the end of next year will be the last one we can help. It costs approx £2,000 per year to go to university plus a little more for books and travel expenses, but it is money well spent.

If you can help us or know of a firm who may be able to assist in giving at least one or more young people this opportunity please do not hesitate to contact me on: Tel No. 020 8926 2431 and ask for Elena or leave your telephone number with my husband and I will call you straight back or email me at elena@onelife-online.org.uk.

Thank you. To change the future of these orphans we need to give them the opportunity to further their education leading to employment, self esteem and the chance to help other young people by giving them the opportunity to change their lives and that of future generations.
