Funding sent to Africa

On January 17th £2,750 was transferred to the account in South Africa. This was for the purchase of stationary for the children returning to school after the Christmas break. This was needed urgently as the school/uniform/stationary money was not sufficient as the school fees went up a while ago.

Funding was also send for the purchase of food for the children who come twice a day to eat at the centre, that is before and after school and also for food for Nancy's own household.

I also sent funding for good quality mattresses to be supplied to aged grandparent carers who still sleep on the floor on grass mats and also for any disabled children and carers.

Finally funding was also sent for sanitary ware for the girls and also soap and toothpaste etc for all the children in need of them, especially now they are all back in school.

I am delighted that I was able to send this amount of money and this is due mainly to the cheques, amounting to a total of £5,000 sent by two of the trustees of the AD Charitable trust for which for I am so grateful and also to the money raised by Debbie Pipe, a trustee of One Life and a friend of hers when they held a New Year's evening dance, fund raising event, down at St Anne's church.

My very grateful thanks go to all concerned.
