More News Of The Recent Shack Fire.

I heard today, March 20th, that the new shack, built with funding from One Life, for the grandmother and the seven children in her care whose shack burnt to the ground, has now been finished and any day now the grandmother and the children will leave Nancy's house to move into their new one.

The grandmother was quite badly burnt in the fire of February 2nd but is recovering well and is very excited to be moving into a new home.

I also heard today that because the shacks are built near together that the fire had spread to the surrounding shacks and sadly three toddlers have since died because of this and their carers were quite badly burnt.

I was shocked and saddened to hear this.

Some of those shacks are being rebuilt just using mud and water and sticks and broken bricks and anything available. It is shocking to think that people have to live and survive this way and I wish I had more funding with which to help.

There is never enough funding to do all that needs to be done or for these emergencies which constantly arise.
