Result of latest auction held at St Anne's

On Sat the 19th of October St Anne's held an auction/pledges fund raise event. A cooked meal followed by a choice of deserts was also included and very enjoyable too.

Lindsey Archer organised the event  and John Williams played in a big part by being our auctioneer, and Lindsey worked nonstop on the organisation of this event also selling tickets at the end of several Sunday services and making sure this event ran smoothly, which it did, and there was a also a team of volunteers working hard in the kitchen all evening dishing out the food and washing up endless plates and desert dishes etc.

The auction was fun and very enjoyable and people were extremely generous with their pledges and my gratitude also goes to everyone who pledged their time and efforts which resulted in the wonderful amount of money raised which was an amazing £1,780. Half of this money is for my charity One Life and half for the church. Including a donation of £100 from Chris Webb a friend of mine and a child sponsor, One Life ended up with just over £900 which is an amazing amount of money and will be put to very good use towards the very essential needs of the children in South Africa.

My very grateful thanks go to all concerned, the voluntary helpers and people who bought tickets, donated articles to auction or raffle and those who volunteered and and cooked in their own homes the Shepherds Pie or Vegetarian Lasagne both of which were very tasty and enjoyable.

St Anne's over the years has given and is still giving my charity the invaluable help which I truly need and without them the childrern we help would be living in far worse conditions then they already are. With all the support from the church we have changed many children's lives and also saved lives. for eg the donation of funding for sleeping bags for the children has I hoped ensured that after Thandeka was found frozen to death, that no other child dies that way. That is just one example of the many differences we have made and continue to make. in the children's lives.
