An Unexpected Donation Of £400 Comes To One Life
Yesterday, April 17th, Barbara Burnett, the daughter of Lily Burnett of St Anne's church who has recently passed away, came to my home with cheques amounting to £400.
In her mother's will, Lily had stipulated that at her funeral, instead of flowers, she would like donations and she requested that half the donations went to another charity and half to One Life.
What a wonderful gesture for Lily to make and for which I am most grateful. Her daughter went on to say she would like some of the charities leaflets and copies of the latest newsletter as she is trying to get more support for the charity.
Barbara then went on to say that she often does running, half marathons etc but had never asked for sponsorship but the very next run she does will be for One Life and she will be asking for sponsors in order to give me as much support as she can.
I am very grateful to Barbara for her kindness and to Lily, her mum, who so recently died. She was a wonderful lady and will be sadly missed not only by her family but by myself and all all the community of St Anne's Church.
