Wonderful Fund Raise result.

Yesterday evening,15th January 2011, our Fund Raise event held in St Anne's Church hall, in aid of One Life, raised a wonderful £1,020 for the charity.

This was an unexpected and exceptional amount which resulted from a very enjoyable evening with the very talented Cantando Chorale, a three course meal, raffle and small sale of goods.

My most grateful thanks go to Penny and David Rolfe for their hard work in organising this event and also to their son Stephen who, along with Penny, was on his feet all evening, behind the scenes, in the kitchen. Unfortunately, on the night, David Rolfe was unable to attend due to a knee injury and just that day being released from hospital. John Williams with his usual talent for capturing the audience stood in for him with all the announcements which were needed throughout the evening.

We had an array of willing and wonderful wonderful helpers setting up, cooking, clearing away and all the other things which an event like this entails. My sincere thanks go to them for all their hard work and cheerfulness despite, at the end, sheer exhaustion.
