The Sponsored Walk

On Saturday May 12th One Life held it's annual sponsored walk. Despite the weather forecast the rain held off until,mid afternoon and even became warm and sunny for a short period in the morning. We all managed to have our packed lunches out of doors and this was very enjoyable due to the many multicoloured flower displays and the wonderful bird life always present in St James's Park. As we walked down The Mall towards Buckingham Palace on our first stretch of the walk we saw the soldiers and horses on their way back to Wellington Barracks. This was certainly an added bonus to our day. The turn out for the walk was good and we were joined by Sue and her son from The Midlands, Rosemary from Cambridge, Joan from Epsom Surrey and Rosie from Cranwell near Guildford and a good number of more local people. The total amount raised will be posted on this site at a later date.
