Result of the Fund Raise Event held in the Methodist Church Hall, South Chingford
Yesterday Nov 3rd we held our Fund Raise event in the Methodist Church Hall, New Road. We enjoyed a very successful day and raised over £700. This morning we took some of the goods which we had not sold down to St Annes' Church Hall where, with the help of Penny and David Rolfe we made over another £90 in a very short time when the parishioners were enjoying coffee after the morning service. All in all £819.68 was raised for the children of Africa. Next week this amount plus all the school/uniform fees which have to be paid this time of year will be sent out to S. Africa.
I am delighted with the amount we raised and wish to thank all the people who gave up their Saturday to help at the fund raise and support the charity and the children.
Everyone enjoyed whatever therapeutic treatment they received and the Belly Dancing troupe were amazing and were enjoyed by everyone. The stalls were varied and interesting, the tea, coffee and cakes, excellent and a good time was had by all.
The photographer from the local Guardian turned up in time to photograph the Belly Dancers so watch out for the write up in next weeks Guardiian, usually out on a Thursday.
All in all it was a wonderful day and worth all the hard work that everyone put into it.
