News from S Africa

A couple of days ago I received an email from Khanya (Nancy's daughter) in Kwazulu. She wrote that herself and her family and the community where she lives are walking in fear. There is a political riot going on between ANC and IFP members and there is shooting going on and people getting killed or hurt.

I heard again yesterday that the riot is quietening down a little but the schools are still closing early because everyone fears for the children.

There is so much death out in Kwazulu through AIDS and TB and now this pointless killing is taking the precious lives that are left. Let us join together in our own individual way of prayer and pray for peace in a country which has already lost so many of its people through sickness and starvation.

I know that all our love and thoughts go out to the people of Kwazulu. May our prayer for peace be answered.
