News from S Africa

I phoned Nancy of The Thandukuphila Centre, Kwazulu, South Africa this morning.

Nancy told me that they had an electricity cut the other evening and whilst that was happening burglars broke into the house and shot at her husband, the bullet just missed his head and went into the ceiling. They then pistol whipped him around the head. He had to go to the hospital but is now recovering well.,

When they ran off they fired a shot at Nancy but missed by about an inch. The whole family, particularly the children who Nancy has taken in, are badly traumatised.

When Khanya heard the shot she ran to the kitchen to try and help her dad. The burglars did not shoot at her but she is of course very shocked at what happened and what might have happened had the house not been in the dark.

Nancy and the family have had a terrible year with sickness and worries and now this. Let us join together in wishing them well and keeping them in our thoughts and prayers.
