Flooding in Africa

Yesterday, 18th January, I was talking with Khanya (Nancy's daughter) in South Africa. She told me that although it is extremely hot there, there is constant rain and once again much flood damage.

This is terrible news as many of the shacks are down again and the people are trying to rebuild and also repair them with mud and stones. it is so hard to envisage that in this century people are still living like this with less than the basic necessities for life. Even the schools have been affected and many are closed this week as the teachers try to bail out all the water.

I cannot really imagine what it must be like and it seems that there is world flooding right now with Australia, Brazil and even our own country being affected.

I cannot help everyone but shortly I will be receiving Gift Aid Tax Relief, so some of that together with the money raised last Saturday evening at the Fund Raise Event, will go towards helping with shack repair along with the purchase of food and medication etc.

I just hope and pray that donations keep coming in so that when emergencies like this arise we are in a position to help, even if it is just in a small way.
