Funding to South Africa

Today, July 7th, £2000 has been transferred to the Bank Account in South Africa. This is for food, blankets, shack repair and other needs which have or will arise.

Nancy said, when I spoke to her on the phone on the 6th July, that it is snowing and everyone is very cold where she and the children are so although she has recently bought some blankets funding is needed for more and also to continue with the shack repair.

I could hear the relief in Nancy's voice when I told her that £2,000 would be on its way to her tomorrow.

Nancy sends her sincere thanks for the generosity given by people who could afford to respond to the appeal. That this has amounted to just over £6,000 now is a miracle and has done so much to improve the children's circumstances. Nancy told me that they need more wind up torches so that the children can use them for their homework instead of the candles which cause so many accidents.

The torches are on order and I should be able to collect them on Monday and send them out to South Africa shortly after that.
