Thandukuphila

The Thandukuphila Centre and our New Satellite Centre feed children twice a day. These children make their way to the centres before and after school. One Life needs sponsors to ensure the yearly education of some of these children. Most of these are children who are orphaned by the AIDS/HIV Virus or TB and have no way of receiving an education without our help.

The centre also gives out food parcels to families who have no other way of surviving except through this help. Many children live as part of a child headed family or with an aged grandparent or some other carer. Many live in shacks which are in a very poor state of repair with holes in the roofs and walls, doors hanging from their hinges and unsafe flooring.

These families desperately need our help.Having no electricity or water to hand and the additional hardship of poor living quarters, wintertime for many of these children is unbearable.

Here is how you can help. Please rest assured that 100% of monies donated are used for the purpose with which they were intended.

  • £40 would buy a good solid shack door
  • £40 would help to repair a shack roof and repair or replace flooring.
  • £4 would but a warm blanket
  • £10 would buy a foam mattress.
  • £10 would buy a cooking pot or plates and utensils.
  • £5 would buy a small towel, soap, flannel, toothpaste and toothbrush, all the things we take for granted.
  • £15 or £20 (depending on child's age) would pay for schools fees
  • £35 buys a basic school uniform (required for school attendance)

Please help us by donating any amount you can afford and help to make the lives of these children more bearable. Thank you.
