Funds to South Africa

Today, 3rd March, I have just transferred money out to South Africa. Some of the funding is for the purchase of an all important scanner for the computer then, hopefully, after a very long time, we will be all set up again to resume emailing, receiving receipts and other documents and photos of the children.

A change of name for the Thandukuphila centre

I heard from South Africa today, that because we are no longer based in the Thandukuphila Centre, but are now functioning from a double garage, our new official name is the Sinikithemba Care Centre.

I am hoping to find out the meaning of the word Sinikithemba and when I do this will be published here on the website.

Bad News From South Africa

On the 26th of February I received a text then an email from Khanya telling me that she had been mugged at gunpoint, by two men, outside the hospital where she and and a little boy who Nancy cares for had gone to collect his all important Anti Retro-viral drugs for his HIV condition.

Gift Aid Tax Return

Today, 23rd February 2011, I received notification of this year's Gift Aid Claim for the year 2010.

This year the tax return comes to £4,639.47 which is approximately £800 more than last year and a wonderful amount for my small charity.

A Donation with a difference

On Sunday, 6th, February, Jayne Harrill who sponsors three of our children, came to my house with a donation of £100.
