Tomorrow,8th June, £1,500 is being transferred to South Africa. the majority of this is for the much needed repairs and rebuilding of the shacks and mud huts so badly damaged in the latest bouts of flooding.
Today, 7th June, Jean Spinks gave me the sum of £110 for the appeal. This was raised by Jean selling her hand-made greeting cards and also included some money donated for the appeal by associates of Jean.
Today, 6th June, I received a very unexpected donation of £100. This, after the recent donation of £1,000 felt like another wonderful miracle. A lady called Joan Maharaj of Chingford brought this money to my house this morning.
Today, 5th June, I was talking by phone with Nancy in South Africa and also to Khanya, her daughter. They told me that the all important, life saving Anti Retro-Viral drugs are no longer imported into the country.
