On Wednesday the 8th June, £1,500 will be sent out to Nancy in South Africa. This is specifically for shack and mud hut repair.
I spoke to Nancy this morning, 6th June, and she said that with the last lot of money sent out they had attempted to patch up the worst huts but as soon as one side was done the other collapsed.
Today, 4th June, I received a phone call to say I have two cheques to come for the amazing sum of £1,000 each. These generous donations have been given by Emily and David Tomalin of Cookham and it is part of money inherited from Emily's grandparents Kath and Emile Delavenay who, all their lives, were concerned about social justice.
This afternoon, 15th May, I received a text from Nancy and Khanya in South Africa to say that Sr Emmanuel passed away suddenly this afternoon at 4-30pm.
On Tuesday the 17th May £1,800 is being transferred into the account in Africa.
£1,500 is for food and transport and will ensure that everyone has food and the ability to collect their ARV drugs and other medication from the hospital for the next three to four months.
